Andres Uibo 70

In April 2026, organist, composer, and teacher Andres Uibo will celebrate his 70th birthday. He has been one of the key figures in the development and preservation of Estonia’s organ culture. The anniversary concert will bring to the stage musicians who share a long-standing creative path and many years of collaboration with Andres Uibo.

Performing at the concert will be violinists Mari-Liis Uibo and Andres Mustonen, organist Toomas Trass, the vocal ensemble Orthodox Singers, and the chamber choir Collegium Musicale conducted by Endrik Üksvärav and Valeri Petrov.

Andres Uibo graduated from the Tallinn Conservatory (now the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre) in the organ class of professor Hugo Lepnurm and later continued his studies in Germany at the Lübeck Academy of Music with professor Hans Gebhard. Since 1981, he has served as the organist of the Niguliste Museum, and since 1994 he has been professor of organ at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre. Many active organists of today’s organ scene have emerged from among his students.
