Dives Toletana. Where Art Lives: Treasures of Toledo Cathedral from Medieval to El Greco
The Toledo Cathedral, the heart of Spanish faith and art, opens its extraordinary treasury and invites you on a journey spanning over a thousand years, from the Visigoths to Spain’s Golden Age. The display presents rare textiles, paintings and liturgical objects from the 11th to the 17th century, covering the Middle Ages through the works of El Greco and José de Ribera. It is dedicated to the 500th anniversary of the death of Michel Sittow, an artist from Tallinn whose international career began at Toledo Cathedral, and also celebrates the cathedral’s forthcoming 800th anniversary.
The exhibition is held in cooperation with the Toledo Cathedral, the Museo de Santa Cruz and the region of Castilla–La Mancha.
