Kumu Art Museum

Kumu is the main building of the Art Museum of Estonia, as well as one of the largest and most monumental exhibition venues in the country. The museum provides a survey of the various time periods of Estonian art: from the Academic Style to Modernism, from Soviet Pop Art to contemporary art. The modern architecture of the building is an attraction in its own right.

Kadriorg Art Museum

The Kadriorg Art Museum is the only museum in Estonia dedicated to early European and Russian art. Interpreting the art of old masters is also the focus of its exhibitions and educational programmes. The museum is located in Kadriorg, in the Baroque palace built for the Russian tsar Peter the Great.

Håkon Kornstad – solo saxophone, flute, flutonette, voice, live looping

The solo concert of Norwegian saxophonist, composer, and singer Håkon Kornstad is a singular experience, where the saxophone meets the human voice and the freedom of jazz merges with the expressiveness of opera. Emhanced by electronics and looping, his performances create both motoric and ambient soundscapes, drawing comparisons to Colin Stetson and The Caretaker. Kornstad’s work is fresh –surprising in the best way – and unconstrained by genre boundaries. His sonic world will fill the majestic vaults of St. Nicholas’ Church on 5 December at Christmas Jazz – an exceptional setting for exceptional music.
